By the end of this year, our soldiers would be receiving new ”hybrid” dual fabric uniforms that boast to absorb sweat quickly and dry 0.6 times faster than the standard issue camouflage uniform. Melding high-performance fabric with the tougher pixelated fabric, the “hybrid” uniforms are meant to enhance circulation through its porous construction (probably still can’t beat the unforgiving Singaporean Sun though). Furthermore, the hybrid uniforms will only be available to national servicemen who are currently serving. Before you NSFs celebrate, the “hybrid” uniforms are meant to complement the standard pixelated uniforms, which means that all soldiers are still required to don their No. 4 uniforms for activities other than combat exercises and field training (I guess there’s no escaping the need to have pristine uniforms).
