A little far from home, 17,000 people are protesting with their lives for their own. As of 31st March, at least 16 Palestinians have been killed and many others wounded by Israeli forces who fired into protesting crowds near the Gaza strip. The protests are part of what is known as a “Return March”, organised as a peaceful protest involving Palestinian women and children demanding the rights of return for refugees in Israel. However, Israeli forces saw the march as a Hamas-led terror threat guised as a peaceful protest, justifying their use of live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas.
